3. Best Communication
The winner of the Best Communication award will
possess much more than a well produced set of accounts. The winning
company will have demonstrated that it is able to communicate effectively
with all levels of shareholders and potential shareholders, being
consistent in its approach and presentations and maintaining regular
contact with its shareholders.
4. Best Use of AIM The
winner of this award will be a company that regards its arrival on
AIM as the beginning of a journey rather than a destination in itself.
The winning company will probably have raised money initially from
a wide spread of institutional and private investors and may well
have undertaken further fund raisings to accelerate its growth.
5. Best Technology The winner of this award
will be a company which reflects the innovation and entrepreneurial
skills that are the cornerstone of the AIM culture. The technology
concerned does not have to have been proven. Obviously this is, potentially,
a high risk award, given the innovative nature of the subject matter,
and the Voting Panel will be aware of, and make allowances for, this
fact.
6. AIM Transaction of the Year The winner of this new award will be a company that has been transformed by a single financial or commercial transaction during the period under review. This is necessarily a wide ranging award, given to recognise a significant achievement by a company in transforming itself, literally at a stroke, and thereby creating significant shareholder value.
7. Best Research
The winner of this award
could be an individual, a team or a department, a publication, a columnist
or a contributor who has, quite simply, brought AIM to life. Providing
the oxygen and creating interest in a market of over 500 diverse small
and medium sized companies will be the analysts, brokers, journalists
and contributors who provide detailed investment commentary; the winner
of this award will be recognisable for his or her contribution in
increasing the profile of AIM.
8. International company
of the year
AIM is a market that is becoming more and more international. AIM's constituents currently include companies from 16 different countries around the world, and growing. To reflect this growing international participation, the International Company of the Year Award is given to reward all round excellence in AIM companies that are incorporated overseas.
9. Best Newcomer
The winner of this award would quite simply be
a strong contender for Company of the Year were it not due to the
lack of a public company track record. Arriving on AIM between 1
August 2004 and 31 July 2005, the winner will already have caught
the imagination of investors. (See

10. Entrepreneur of the
Year AIM
is a market tailor-made for entrepreneurs, and therefore voters should
be spoilt for choice. The winner of this award will be an entrepreneur
who has demonstrated the vision, flair, drive and business acumen
to take his or her business forward, via an AIM listing, at a pace
impossible without access to Stock Exchange funding. The winner will
also have recognised that behind every successful entrepreneur is
an established management team that will help him or her deal with
the demands of public company life.
11. Company of the Year The
ultimate accolade for any AIM company is the Company of the Year award.
The Company of the Year will have demonstrated to its new shareholders
that it is a responsible, fully accountable, dynamic business with
strong growth prospects and a commitment to AIM. The Company of the
Year’s growth potential will be excellent, but these prospects
will not necessarily have manifested themselves in results announced
to date. Above all, the winner will be a serious, well managed business,
having attracted public funding to enhance and develop its growth
potential to the full.
